Fell's Point

I spent the Christmas weekend visiting friend's in Baltimore, MD. We had brunch on an unusually warm winter day to Fell's Point, Baltimore's up and coming waterfront. Took the opportunity to test drive a borrowed Nikkor 12-24DX...gosh I miss ultra wide angle :)

The Frenzy Begins

After the slaughter of the defenceless turkeys, the hectic holiday shopping frenzy begins. Black Friday started in the earnest in SoHo. I was there playing tour guide for an out of town friend, and I could only be a spectator. Not that I dont want to join in. My wallet was kinda empty =p....so I only took pictures =)

Thanksgiving Parade

I finally drag my lazy butt out this Thanksgiving. Macy's parade was too good a photo opportunity to miss. But still, I wasn't early enough to get a good spot. Shooting wide was a lot times out of the question because of my location. So despite getting nasty looks from people not happy with someone sticking a big lens so close to their head, I snapped away with my 80-200 nikkor.

Central Park "Wildlife"

While the term urban jungle certainly applies to Manhattan, the island is certainly not void of its wildlife. Venturing to Central park trying to capture the last days of fall, these fellow visitors of the park caught my eyes. So used to people, they were not fazed at all even though I only used a relatively short 105mm lens.

Hanging

Things that people do to make a living. How about cleaning windows 10 floors up with just a safety rope around your waist? I hope his family knows what he has to go through everyday to put food on their table.

Faces in the crowd

I've always been interested in the moving masses during rush hour on Fifth Avenue. I've been trying to capture the hustle and bustle of the city's peak hour along it's busiest throughfare. This time I used 200mm lens to compress the crowd, to give it a packed look, and then pick out interesting faces in it.

Today I got lucky and got out of work by 6PM (some luck :P )....it was raining a bit but what the hell..here goes...Radio City Music Hall, a couple of blocks from the office.

Bushkill Falls, PA

Another series from my trip along Pennsylvania's Route 6. We found the falls accidently while at a rest stop. They claim this as the "Niagara of Pennsylvania". Having lived just a half hour from Niagara Falls, NY, this is certainly pale in comparison. But it was still a fun photo trip.

Fall in Pennsylvania

It rained every single day last week in New York. I had serious doubt that the Saturday photo trip to Pennsylvania would be possible at all. But after driving 2 hours west into Northern PA, it turned out to be a great day after all.

6th year......

This fall marks my 6th year away from my home country. I started as a graduate student in Buffalo, NY in the fall of '99 (from tropical islands of Indonesia to snow central of Western New York, quite a change eh? :) and I end up in the great city that I now call home, NYC. Here's a homage to my home away from home.

BW

I was browsing through some shots I took during a workshop earlier in the year. I wasn't happy with my original shot, so I played around with a new BW conversion method I found on the web. Here's a few of the result.
