Lives Lost

Flowing ribbons along a church's fence on Fifth Avenue caught my eye. I crossed the street to investigate. It turns out, every single ribbon contained the name, rank, and age of service members killed in the war in Iraq. It breaks your heart to see the entire fence was filled with it, representing more than 3000 service personnel killed, and tens of thousands of Iraqi civilian along with them. If this doesn't compel people to question the wisdom of their leadership sending their military to an ill conceived war and demand and end of all this carnage, I don't know what will.

Year of the Golden Pig

The gregorian new year has always been cruel to us accountants. Long hours awaits all the way to the end of April. But chinese new year of the pig has been more generous. It signal the arrival of my new, well newly acquired used D200 and 85mm 1.4 AIS. What better way to test drive this new rig in NYC's Canal street lunar new year parade.

Down the catwalk....

A friend of mine had her first fashion show at a club in New York. Of course I showed up with a camera in tow. Shooting in a rapidly changing light scene is hellish.Even with aperture priority I got a lot of over and under exposed frames. Anyways, here's a few that I like. Here's the link to the designer's site as well: http://www.ardistianewyork.com/
